1st timers-Itinerary feedback and advice needed-Family of 4
We are a family of 4 (2 adults/2pre-teens) arriving in Venice on July 30 at 11am Local time.. Here is our planned itinerary:
7/30/2015: arriving in Venice at 11am, spend a couple of days there and then head to Florence on 8/2
8/2/2015: arrive in Florence- Visit Florence in afternoon.
8/3/2015: Visit Florence
8/4/2015: day trip to Pisa/Lucca (may or may not rent a car or use tour guide)
8/5/2015: day trip to visit Siena, San Gim, Monteriggionni, Chianti areas (will probably us tour guide there)
8/6/2015: leave Florence to Southern Tuscany and stay a couple of days on an Agriturismo or tuscan villa. Rent a car in Chiusi to visit Pinza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and areas.
8/9/2015: Visit Orvieto then return rental and head to Rome via train. Spend nite in Rome
8/9-8/15 : Stay in Rome and visit key areas of attractions and main areas of interest...Include potential day trip to Tivoli.
8/15/2015 leave Rome to Sorrento and spend a couple of days there before heading back to the US on 8/19/2015.
8/19/2015: flight back to USA.

One day for Pisa/Lucca is fine. We did that but would like to go back! Your Siena etc is too much for one day. You will spend more time travelling between the sights that at the sights.
